Akçakil Camping is located on a beautiful Turkish Mediterranean bay and located at 3rd. km(~1.8 mi.) off ANAMUR HIGHWAY from TASUCU. This area is part of TURKEY's Turquoise coast also known as theTurkish Riviera.

The majestic Toros (Taurus) Mountains plunge down to the Mediterranean giving rise to narrow, luxuriant coastal belt covered in wild oleanders and pine forest. This intensely colorful region is bathed in sunshine for 250 days a year and the clear turquoise waters within the rocky and sandy beaches has been the ideal place for vacationers for many years.

This area with all its unspoilt natural beauty and historical sites, also it is a one of a kind paradise for world birdwatchers.

During your stay in AKÇAKIL CAMPING you will be able to minimize the distances to travel each day in order to make the most of birdwatching...   Because, AKÇAKIL CAMPING is situated only 10.5 km (~7mi) west of the spectacular Göksu Delta.

AKÇAKIL CAMPING nicely situated on 2½ acres(1 Hectar) of land at sea level and parallel to Silifke-Anamur Hwy., on the eastern Turkish Mediterranean coast. Like Turkey's Aegean coast, it's Mediterranean coast is also littered with ancient ruins. Akçakil Camping is easily accessible to many of those historical sites either by public bus or personal transportation.

The road from Silifke(Ancient Seleucia ad Calycadnos) to Anamur clings to pine clad mountain slopes, which plunge spectaculary down into the Mediterranean. Inland and just beyond Silifke are the chasms known as Heaven and Hell, which are in fact collapsed caverns. In the chasm of HEAVEN is a ruined Byzantine Chapel.

Going on the coast line to the west, the road rises and falls until the city of ANAMUR, which nestles in the mountains a few kilometres inland. The fine, well preserved CRUSADER CASTLE is nearby, set between two curving sandy beaches.


All our guests enjoy a varity of special-interest activities, exploring the state itself for bird watching, nature walks, fishing and more.
